Equity Alliance Professional Learning for Equity Certification Group
This group of educators met following the Equity Alliance forum to engage in conversations and activities about systemic Professional Learning for Equity. Participants learned how to help others reframe deficit models of thinking about disparities in educational access, participation, and outcomes, how to facilitate experiences that support people’s encounters with their own cultural memberships, individual beliefs, and biases that impact teaching and learning and frameworks for engaging in the design and implementation of professional learning content and processes that are most likely to lead to transformative change in local settings.
2010 Forum Participants
Participants at the 2010 Leadership for Equity and Excellence Forum entered their business cards in our Networking Lunch Boxes. These participants have been added to our online Discussion group. We envision this group as a “community of practice” of educators around the country who are working to improve access, opportunities, and participation for ALL students in schools.
