Equity in the News
The links below will take you to recent news articles regarding issues of equity in education that really matter. Our staff members handpick key articles from hundreds of publications and provide links to the original sources. We pay special attention to news happening within Region IX of the equity assistance center program in which we are funded to serve (Arizona, California, and Nevada). However, when national equity matters arise, we take special measures to include these articles as well. Some major topics include desegregation, closing the achievement gap, minimizing disparities in educational outcomes, discrimination, disproportionality and issues involving the Office of Civil Rights (OCR). In other words, we do all the research...and you get the news you want!
